Holiday Recap
Our New Years Holiday Weekend was....um....not as we expected it would be. Filled with lots of buckets next to beds, and lots of stinky diapers in the diaper champs. We Starstrom's had the stomach flu. If you count Meema (who we were visiting at the time) 4 out of 5 of us had it. I was spared, although, I may be the one who started the whole thing, as I was sick with it, the week of Christmas. So really it was Flu 5: Starstroms' 0. Just so I don't sound like a total Debbie Downer, I did learn a few things from it (way to turn a negative into a positive/learning experience!). I learned that Evan is such a sound sleeper, he doesn't even wake up when he vomits. I had to literally watch him sleep all night because every 10 minutes or so he would vomit. I would turn his head to the side and try to get it all in a bucket, wipe his mouth, and he would just keep right on sleeping. I have also learned to never let Drew help pack for a trip. He was next to me when I was packing his bag, and as soon as I packed his beloved blanky, he took it out and ran off with it, so we left it far behind in Orlando. I learned that Drew LOVES that blanky with everything in him and does not like it one bit when he can't have it for 4 days straight. I learned that Pull Up diapers do a crappy (no pun intended) job of holding diarrhea. I learned that Charlie the teddy bear, can really hold onto a vomit smell like nobody's business. I learned that going to work is much easier and laid back then staying at home with two sick little ones and a sick husband (I got to escape the poop for a few hours each day while I worked! Whoo hoo!). I really can find the positive in everything, so here's hoping we got antibodies to that darn stomach bug, and that we stay healthy the rest of 2011. I hope that 2011 is the best year yet, for us and for all of our friends and family! 2010 is a hard act to follow, but I have a feeling that 2011 will give it a run for it's money! Happy New Year!!!
