HAPPY BIRTHDAY EVAN!!!!
Four years ago today, I was giving birth to a Mr. Evan Paul, the sweetest 4 year old who ever lived. Four years ago today, I was only numb on half my body from my epidural....And to this day, I am not sure what the point of an epidural is, that only numbs half your body. Because it doesn't cut the pain in half, just merely the location of the pain. Oh wait, this is about my funny boy, Evan...not me. Something about giving birth, automatically gives you the right to talk about the birthing process at any given time, however, inappropriate. So for those of you who know me...I am kind of partial to homemade cakes. So why the random Publix cake with pink balloons you ask? Well, that would be because I kind of forgot that Evan is now 4 and he knows when his birthday is. I have big plans to bake a Castle cake tomorrow for his school Bday party on Monday. And then more big plans to make another Castle cake next Saturday for his big Bday Bash with family and friends. So I thought it would be more convenient to just make an extra little cupcake tomorrow when I make the big cake, and give it to Evan then. Oh wait. That would have worked had he been 2, or maybe even 3. But that wasn't gonna fly today. Even though he got a cookie with icecream and a candle at his bday dinner at the Trex Cafe, that still wasn't gonna cut it. Smarty pants wanted a cake today too. So off to Publix we went, and grabbed the cutest fudge iced cake we could find. So cake today, castle cake tomorrow, castle cake next Saturday...oh and did I mention about 3 construction themed cupcake batches in between for Drew's Birthday? I think I am just gonna make 3 gallons of buttercream icing and call it a day. The good news is, Drew now likes cake!!! He really hasn't had cake since his 1st birthday. Not because I am a health fanatic...just because Drew just happens to prefer broccolli to sweets. I know...I think he's an imposter too, he can't be related to me!!!
On a side note, I realize Evan's shirt only has 3 candles. I tried to explain that to him this morning when he dressed himself. But he wasn't concerned. He knew it was a birthday shirt, and it was his birthday, so he was wearing it! He wore it last year, and since he has only gained about 4 lbs since his last birthday (3 of which in the last month!), it still fit!!!
