Random Post of the Week
This post has nothing to do with Drew, and everything to do with "E", but I have so many more cute pictures of Drew these days because he is A. such an adorable and willing subject; B. He has so many cool new tricks and he is so proud of himself; and C. I love to take pictures of him when he is wearing a cute new outfit (Evan has been wearing the same size and the same clothes now for 2 years..boring). So whatevs...random post. Won't be the first, and it won't be the last.
It's hard to believe I was worried about Evan's speech just 9-12 short months ago, cause the boy just won't stop talking!! He pretty much talks like an adult now. No more baby-words like Faba for motorcycle, or Gogi for bird. He does have two words he says, that are precise...well, no, but accurate, yes. Instead of "everybody", he says "allbody". Which, I gotta say, makes as much sense, if not more, than everybody, does it not? He also says "countalator" instead of "calculator". Again, makes sense, no? He keeps a calculator in his car seat to play with while we drive and to "practice" his numbers with.
Not only does he talk up a storm now, but he is also signing up a storm. Lately, he is very into listening to the radio in place of the DVD player in the car, or listening to baby songs. He jams out, back there in the back seat. He does this dance where he closes his eyes and moves his head around like he is really getting in the groove, it's freaking adorable. But it also makes him seem so grown up at times. The other day when he was sick, he kept telling me to "make me feel better, Mommy". So I took him the back room at Meema's house and tried to rock him and comfort him by singing to him. I sang one of the songs I used to sing to him when he was a baby, "singing Evan, my baby, gonna go to sleep for sure, for sure". But two words in, he looks up at me and belts out the words to this pop song he heard on the radio..."singing Ay-o, baby let's go". Needless to say, I broke out in a laugh, but no longer did I feel like rocking him. I just didn't feel like me singing a baby song to him, while basically force-cuddling him, would really do the trick of making him feel better!!! He has also been known to break out into song whenever I say Uh-Oh (which is quiet frequent ). "Uh-oh, I want some more. Uh-Oh, what are you waiting for, say goodbye to my heart tonight". Another pop song. Where did my baby go, and where did this 3 year old, going on 12 years old come from?
