I gotta give Evan credit where credit is due, he is an amazing big brother. The first year of Drew's life, Evan found Drew to be somewhat of a nuisance. He required a great deal of attention, attention that in Evan's eyes, was supposed to be his. Drew cried A LOT in the beginning, and Evan doesn't like loud noises particularly much. Drew made his, typically energetic Mama, somewhat exhausted! Drew required lots of trips to the Doctor's office and hospital! And once he started to crawl, he took and drooled on, most of Evan's toys! Who wouldn't be a little annoyed! Over the last month or two, Evan decided, if you can't beat em, join em. So now he and Drew are best buds. He loves to share toys with him, give him kisses and hugs, and just all around be a great big brother. He is so defensive about him too. Drew fell over the other day, and there were a few kids around him, Evan pushed on through and said, "who pushed Drew?!" in his best, "I am gonna kick any one's butt who mess with him" voice. I love this kid, and the amazing big brother he is becoming, right before my eyes. And this picture just says it all. Evan is taking his job as Drew's bro seriously and putting everything he has into it. And Drew is holding on tight, and enjoying (but remaining somewhat cautious and definitely a tad terrified) the ride! The Starstrom brothers make a pretty amazing team.
And just a quick update on the boy of the hour, Evan had his 3 year well visit today. He is in tip top shape and I am happy to report is approximately in the 50th percentile for weight and 50-75th for height! The Doctor said he will probably be between 5'10" and 6', but most likely closer to 6' given Paul's height. He passed his speech evaluation with flying colors. And is exceeding all of his milestones! Bravo Evan. Bravo.
