Sweet Side

Evan is not very demonstrative. He hasn't been for almost a year now. He's not big into kisses or hugs, and definitely not cuddling. Unless I am trying to cook dinner, then he hugs my legs for what seems like forever. I don't think it's that he doesn't like to do those things, I think he just has more important things to do, like exploring and playing. Because when I give him kisses and hugs, he giggles and laughs, and then squirms away. Anyway, this weekend he gave me my first kiss. Well, not my first kiss, but you know what I mean. I asked him, like I do a dozen times a day, for a kiss, and he finally planted a big WET one on my lips. It was so adorable. I requested many more, but that was it. Kissing was over. This weekend, he also said what I am almost positive was, "love you daddy". It sounded more like "ya ya daddy", but it happened right after I whispered in his ear "say, I love you Daddy". Again, the moment was over as quick as that, and he wouldn't say it again. But also, he started blowing kisses yesterday too. He was never big on that. But now, whenever he ways goodbye, he throws in a kiss as well. It is SOOO cute. My little rough and tough boy is getting in touch with his sensitive side.

Here are a few pictures I took a while back of Evan and Uncle Kevin. I thought they were perfect for the subject at hand, given that they both aren't very "touchy feely" kinda guys, with many exceptions to the rule.

I knew he had it in him. Kisses are the best!
