Birthday Celebration

Just a few snap shots from a recent trip to Grandma's House!  We celebrated all of the September and October Birthday's in the family, so there were five in all!  And no that LARGE glass of red wine wasn't Drew's...Guilty...that was mine. In my defense, Uncle Jeff did the pouring and he's a tad heavy handed when it comes to pouring me wine!!!  We had such a nice time visiting with Aunt Gina, Uncle Jeff and Grandma and Grandpa and can't wait to do it again very soon!

Visiting with Grandma and Grandpa

Maybe I didn't capture the best smiles from the boys here.  So I didn't have cute matching outfits.  But one thing is for sure, I think I did capture the love that the boys have for Paul's parents (OK, well at least I did with Evan, Drew was in a funky mood here and was trying to get to me ASAP!).  They came for a visit this weekend, and of course, showered the boys with lots of toys and affection.  The boys had a blast!!!  Grandma usually sneaks by, escaping my camera and "photo shoots", but not this time!!!  And I am so glad too, these are the pictures I will cherish for years to come!

Dinner with Family

Last night we enjoyed a family dinner with Grandma and Grandpa Starstrom, Aunt Gina and Uncle Jeff, and cousins Michael and Ryan. They are in town on their way to a Christmas cruise to Key West. They escaped the frigid temperatures of New York!!! We spent the day with them yesterday, and last night took the whole crew to Stonewood Grill. I was a little nervous because Evan isn't good at restaurants, and he proved me right. He was pretty terrible. Until Aunt Gina broke out her IPod Touch, Evan was mesmerized. Of course he had a break down when he had to give it back to her. But this morning all he talks about is Gigi and her ribbit (Aunt Gina and the frog that he saw on her Ipod Touch, of course!). Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Starstrom for a wonderful dinner!!

Treasured Times

There is something that is just so special and heartwarming about watching Evan play with his Grandpa. I love the way Grandpa Starstrom treats Evan. He talks to him like an adult, in a good way. He doesn't talk like a baby like I find myself doing at times. I find myself saying things as Evan does, which I know is wrong (i.e. Baba for bottle). But not Ed. He just talks to him like a pal, and I can tell Evan loves it. This weekend Evan had a ball creating a parade with Grandpa with all of his cars and trucks. It was enough to go all the way around the coffee table. I am kicking myself for not getting any pictures of it. But here is a picture of Grandpa and Evan playing with his Winnie the Pooh house. They are both in their own little world here, didn't even know I was snapping away.

Evan's First Hair Cut

You may remember my post a few weeks ago, on whether or not we should get Evan's first hair cut. I was really torn. But as it got hotter and hotter, Evan's hair got crazier and crazier. Once he starts sweating, it stands straight up and out. He constantly plays with his hair when he is sucking his thumb, and that combined with all of the sweat.... made for an interesting hair style. So I bit the bullet. We got it cut in Port St. Lucie while visiting Grandma and Grandpa. I was worried he would cry, or fuss, or try to get out of the seat... but he was an angel. He sat on Daddy's lap and didn't make a peep. Two lollipops helped encourage this behavior. But I must say, the stylist said Evan was one of the best little boys she had ever had as a client. Although he looks older with this hair cut, I think the results are adorable. And who knows, maybe he will start acting older and stop the tantrums, drop the bottle, and eat for a change. I seriously doubt it, but a girl can dream.

I started getting a little concerned right about here, with visions of Jim Carey in Dumb and Dumber in my head.

But I think we're OK, as long as we don't wet it and comb it forward, ever again.

Grandpa, enjoying the show. I had a camera, a video camera, and my camera phone... so I wouldn't miss a second of the big event. Suppose I looked a little funny, but I am used to that.

OK, one last time.... Before:

And After:

I think we made the right decision, what do you think?

Scared, No More

Evan used to be afraid of the splash pad. Maybe it's because he's getting bigger, or it could be the 96 degree weather we are having as of late... but Evan is no longer afraid. This weekend we were in Port St. Lucie, visiting Grandma and Grandpa Starstrom. On Saturday we went to the splash pad and let Evan run around. He loved having an extended audience, and each time he would dip his head into the stream of water, he would look back at Grandma and Grandpa to get a reaction. We had a great time!!!
