Feel better E

Poor guy is sick.  And poor me...I'm up to my eyeballs in laundry. Throw up saturated laundry.  At least his loyal pal Corky is never far! Neither is his stormtrooper figurine for that matter. Feel better Evan.

Poor Baby Drew

Poor baby Drew is sick.  He has some kind of stomach flu.  The good thing is, I get to snuggle with him 24/7, but he is so pitiful.  The little guy doesn't have many fat stores, so hopefully he gets better soon. It's rough being the 2nd born.  His big brother brings home so many nasty bugs from school.  Evan wasn't sick until he was like 15 months old, and Drew has battled many a bug in his short 11 months of life.  Feel better buddy.

Nothing Can Keep him Down!

He may not be his normal smiley self in these pictures, but trust me when I say, nothing can keep this little boy down. He has been sick since Tuesday, one of the worst colds between the two of my boys to date. But you wouldn't know it from looking at him. Well, that is unless you squint really hard and miss the boogies oozing out of his eyes and nose. What I mean is, even though I didn't capture all his smiles and giggles on film, he is one of the happiest sick boys I have ever seen. He can barely breathe, but by golly he can laugh!!! What a joyful little guy.

Humble Pie

OK, so I am one of those Moms. The one with the children with the disgusting runny noses. The one that you stare at and think evil thoughts about, and wonder why the heck she dragged sick kids outside of the house to share their germs with the world? Yup. That's me! When your husband works upwards of 70 hours a week and you have had peanut butter and jelly for the last 4 nights in a row, sometimes it's gotta be done! I am courteous enough to keep them confined to my stroller, even at the grocery store, when I have to shove a weeks worth of groceries in a tiny basket under Drew's infant carrier. Anyway, as I am running through the store, trying to be as discreet as possible, wiping both of their noses at every chance I get.... Evan totally rats me out. I am in line, paying for my goods, when Evan asks, "Mommy, what are you holding?" I replied, "my credit card, I am paying for our stuff." And on I go, about my business. Evan pauses, I suppose hoping I will in return ask him the same question, which I don't. So he asks, "what's Evan holding Mommy?" "I don't know buddy, what are you holding?" And then he replies with much gusto "A BOOGIE MOMMY!!" This statement is paired with his outstretched hand, and at the end of his index finger lies a large, green slimy booger, which is now only inches from my face and in plain view for the cashier to admire as well. Motherhood is so humbling.

No pictures to accompany this post, for obvious reasons.

Get Better Baby

My sweet first born, Evan has been sick now for almost a week. Every time I think it's over, he spikes another temperature. He hasn't eaten a bite (except for one bite of chicken nugget on Tuesday) since last Saturday. This poor boy doesn't have any fat reserves either, so of course I am concerned. The only thing good about this week is all of the extra cuddle-time I am getting in with him and all of the extra sleep he is getting (which is kind of fun for me and Drew). Evan has been sleeping 17 hours a night and taking 4 hour naps on top of that, which means Drew and I have oodles of one on one time. But it also means, I have only left the house twice since Sunday, which means I am going STIR CRAZY. I just may pop open a beer in a minute, because this desperate house wife is starting her weekend early. Thankyouverymuch.

I spoke Too Soon...

OK, so my last post I nonchalantly mentioned that Evan was under the weather. Little did I know what was about to transpire in this Petri-dish I call a home. Evan's illness waxed and waned for another couple of days. I cuddled him on the couch as much as I could. I can never keep him still so I wanted to take advantage of this time. Maybe that wasn't such a good idea because I then became violently ill with whatever Evan had, times 10!!! As soon as I started to be able to catch my breath, Paul got it, times 10. He had what we had, plus a high grade fever that immobilized him to the couch for a good 48 hours. Then, my worst fear came true. Drew started vomiting and having loose stools. Luckily, the antibodies in my milk kicked in and his illness was fairly mild. We are all getting back to normal now, all a little skinnier and still a little timid with food. That combined with a teething toddler who is going stir crazy, made for a very long, difficult week. But I am trying to look on the bright side...hopefully we are now immune to this years stomach flu strain and we are in the clear for a while. One can only hope.

P.S. I forgot to mention one of the dogs now has diarrhea...thankyouverymuch. If I have to do another load of laundry that contains some stained article of linens or clothing containing poop or vomit... I may just officially lose my mind.

Feel Better Sweet Boy

We were all set to go to Animal Kingdom today, our first Disney trip ever!!! I know, I know, living in Orlando, why on earth haven't we taken Evan yet? Well, first he was too little, then I was pregnant (100 degree weather... pregnant...need I say more?), and then little Drew came along. This morning I went to get Evan up to go, I even had a babysitter lined up, and there was throw-up all over his crib. Poor guy. First his ear infection, now this? You wouldn't know it looking at these pictures, he looks like his normal jovial self. But he was sick all morning. He is already feeling better, and a new trip to Disney is in the works!!!
