Animal Kingdom

On Tuesday I took both boys to Disney's Animal Kingdom with our friends the Neville's!  I was nervous to go on my own, as Evan can be a tad...let's say..."difficult" at times.  But I think it went very smoothly.  As long as Evan get's his ice cream sandwich, he's fairly happy.  And Drew was easy going as always.  I love the safari ride, and this time it was especially cool because the lion was out and was roaring like you wouldn't believe.   We probably won't be venturing out to Disney again until the winter because 100 degree weather and long lines are pretty much my least favorite thing EVER!!!

Cars Obsessed

Never in a million years would I think I would ever be dragging my sleepy butt out of bed early on a Sunday morning to wait in line in the heat at Disney too see some painted Cars modeled after a cartoon.  BUT when you have two little Cars-Obsessed boys....you will do just about anything to make them smile!  And so we did....We got to meet Mater, Lightening McQueen, and Finley (who will be making his debut in Cars II this summer).  Yipee!

Going to the Castle

My pictures are in reverse order....Oh well.  Better reversed than not at all is what I always say....  Last week Evan and Daddy went to the Magic Kingdom with the cousins, or as Evan says they went to the castle!!!  I wish I could have gone too, but our passes were blacked out and it would be a shame to spend like $230 bucks for a day of fun when I can go next week for free.  But as I say below, Drew and I had some awesome QT with the whole clan gone at Disney.  It sure does look like they had fun though!!!

Date at Disney

Today, Evan and I had a special date at Disney World's Magic Kingdom!!!  Because he has started to poop in the potty, because he has been asking to go for about the last 9 months, because they are offering a special 4 day pass for Florida Residents, because we live about 5 miles away, and because my AWESOME friend Kristy was so gracious enough to watch Drew for the day, and just BECAUSE....we spent the day, just the two of us, at Disney. It was one of those special days right from the start.  He was in a great mood, the weather was brisk, but beautiful and there were barely any lines.  In a matter of 4 hours we managed to go on Peter Pan, It's a Small World, the Carousel, the Tea Cups, Buzz Light year ride, Monster's INC show, the Race Cars, the Jungle Cruise, Dumbo and we got to see Mickey and Minnie perform at the Cinderella's Castle and a parade!!!  We look forward to going back at least 3 more times over the next few months!!  I may even be brave enough to take both boys by myself.  But we shall see....

Animal Kingdom

This morning Evan and I went to Animal Kingdom, just the two of us. We had a great time. We managed to see just about the entire park in about 5 hours. We went on a safari ride, went to a Dinosaur playground, attended the Lion King show, met Daisy and Goofy (the lines were too long for Minnie and Mickey and Evan isn't too sure about characters yet), went to a petting zoo, rode the choo choo train, and did two walking jungle tours. We had an amazing time. My poor guy has a head cold, but he was a trooper. His favorite part was seeing the Gorillas, he says. My favorite part was by far the safari ride where we saw elephants, giraffe, hippos, lions, and rhinos...just to name a few.

More Disney Pictures

Here are some more Disney pictures from my friend Jen. Makes me realize what a frumpy housewife I have become. I am about 10 lbs under my pre-pregnancy weight, no complaints here, but I have no confidence I can keep the weight off. So I refuse to buy new clothes. As a consequence I am wearing jeans two sizes too big. I am officially a frumpy housewife in desperate need of a makeover. How did my treasured Disney pictures of me and my first born turn into a post about me? Sheesh, narcissistic and frumpy I suppose? Kidding, I do treasure these pictures no matter what I look like. What a great day we had.

Evan's First Trip to the Magic Kingdom

Today, Evan and I along with 4 of my Mommy friends and their 4 kids went to the Magic Kingdom. We had a blast. It was actually really chilly, in the 40's and VERY windy. Add pumping milk for Drew every few hours and a confrontation with a bitter Mom of 5 kids thinking we were cutting her in line, and one may get a tad stressed (hence our unsuccessful search for Bloody Mary's). But SO worth it, just to see the look on Evan's face when he laid eyes on the magic of Disney World. We are already planning our next trip!

I was totally bummed, I took my nice DSLR camera all the way there and lugged it around and didn't take a single picture with it. It was too much of a pain to pull it out every time I wanted to snap a picture, so these are all from my point and shoot. Including the weird one I took of us on It's a Small World. Do I really look like that? I don't look that odd in my head.
