Bub-oes Year Round

Bubbles are usually a summertime thing to do. But in Florida, we get to blow bubbles year-round!!! It was actually pretty cold yesterday, but despite the chilly temperature we went outside and blew bubbles. Evan actually said "bubbles" for the first time yesterday!! Still can't say "Mama", but he can say "buboes"!!!

As you can see, I have been playing around with my Photoshop. I am totally overdoing stuff, but that's how you learn I suppose. But I think the over edited look, looks kind of cool with the bubbles.

Can't Let Go of Christmas.... Well At Least Evan's Christmas PJs.

As long as these PJs fit, or "Jammers" as Daddy calls them, Evan will be wearing them. Because they are just too cute to only wear for one short month. Don't you agree?

Home Away From Home

Because I still work in Jacksonville once a month, where Grammy's home is, we are in Jacksonville quite a bit. Of course even if I didn't work here we would still visit a lot, but maybe not quite as regular as we do now. Luckily Grammy has created an adorable space for Evan when we are here, complete with all the comforts of home!!!!

There are Familiar Faces....

Lots of Frogs, and Evan-sized chairs...

Whimsical Touches...

Books and Toys Galore...

An Adorable Handmade Quilt (made by Grammy that is)...

Complete with a Poem on the Wall...

And a Place for Evan's Most Prized Possessions, Charlie and Duncan...

As well as a Spot For Evan to Rest his Head After a LONG Day of Playing.

Thank you Grammy for making us feel right at home!!!

Serenity Now

After taking a hectic walk with my two dogs, Corky and Farley, and Evan in his stroller, I like to look back at calmer times!! Picture this, me pushing my son in a jogging stroller with at least two out of three tires almost flat. Evan crying because he hates to be bundled up and tied down (if it were up to him, he would be running the streets barefoot in a diaper in the 45 degree weather). All the while I am pulling two wild dogs who act like they have never before been on a walk or seen another dog in their long six years of life. During the short 15 minute (felt like 45 minutes) walk, there were many piles of poop that were retrieved in a plastic bag, all while trying to keep the dogs from attacking a fearless miniature poodle and multiple ducks. On the walk, 100% of the people (OK, so we only saw three people) we encountered gave me a sympathetic look and said "you have your hands full", which is a nice way of saying "get control of your baby and dogs PLEASE!!!" And I only have one child, can't imagine what it would be like with multiple children!!!! Sheesh!!! So anyway, after the disastrous daily walks, I like to unwind. And today that entailed looking at these pictures I took yesterday at Walter Jones Historical Park on the St. Johns River. Ahhhh. If only every moment could be that peaceful.

What Does a Sleeping Angel Look Like?

What Does a Boy Who Was Just Woken up by Mama's Camera Shutter Look Like?

Mathmatical Equation

What does a breastfed baby (for 13 months) + laziness + a sucker for a Mom =? A 16 month old who can't, no wait, WON'T hold his own bottle or sippy cup!!!! Today, however, I finally got him to do it himself. Sure, I don't mind holding it for him. But it's principle!!!

Cruisin for Chicks

Evan in his little blue convertible at Grammy's house. The car is a loaner from his buddy Graham (who is 4 months old, and his mom won't give the keys quite yet).

Swirley

Sometimes just looking at his hair, makes me crave a soft serve, chocolate vanilla swirl ice cream. His hair is one GIANT swirl that is never ending. I used to say he had Donald Trump hair because it was wispy, and thin, and he had almost a comb-over look. But now, I could just eat it up. Today it looked especially red with all of the orange leaves on the ground in the background. But yesterday, people told me it looked blond. Doesn't look blond in this second picture huh? Un-edited. I love it, now if only his little curl would come back!!!

Different Strokes

Today it was a brisk 50 degrees when we decided to head to the park. Evan, being the Floridian that he is, does not like to wear coats or mittens. He absolutely freaks out if I try to put him in any sort of outerwear.
So out we went and it wasn't long before his little nose got pink and his little hands cold. But that didn't stop him. I had to drag him away from the park after over an hour and half of non-stop playin!!
Doesn't that first picture just scream "watchu talkin bout Willis".
