My Rock Stars

I had some hams on my hands this week...hence the 1500 pictures I took.  Here are the kids playing on some rocks at the beach after dinner one night.  Drew is not pictured because he spilled an entire red Italian Ice on his shirt and was running around in some old PJs.  But don't worry, I made up for pictures of him the rest of the trip.

Dinner with Friends

Here are some pictures of a dinner out we shared with our friends in AMI.  I already miss the seafood and we have only been back for a day.  Grouper cakes, ceviche, fresh tuna, calamari....no wonder I gained 8 lbs...did I say 6 below? I think I meant 8.  Spending a week with another family in close quarters will either bring you closer or you will get annoyed beyond belief.  I can tell you, we had a blast and are definitely closer!  Drew and their little girl bonded more then ever and are best buds! And our Evan's played together beautifully.  Let's just hope we didn't annoy them too bad!!!

Testing Testing....

This is a test post.  If 26 pictures of Drew wearing my sun glasses don't interest you, try and avoid the next 12 or so posts from me!  Because the Starstrom Family finally went on vacation!  Our first real vacation in two years!!!  So I just took about 1500 or so snapshots and will probably share about 200 or so with you over the course of the next few posts.  So take this as a warning.... But for those who like these sandy, sun tan lotion soaked boys of mine take a seat and enjoy!

We ventured over to Anna Maria Island for the week with our friend's the Neville Family.  We rented an adorable house with a pool and a hot tub, and just blocks from the beach!  The beach was gorgeous, because the sand was white and super soft, and the water clear and warm.  We had a blast.  And I officially have the post-vacation blues now.  It's DDL time.  Yes, that' was a Jersey Shore reference but with a twist...Detox, Diet and Laundry.  I gained about 6 lbs in one week.  Yikes!  And I may have partaken in a few a lot of adult beverages.  So it's back to the YMCA tomorrow for me!  Anyways, hope you enjoy some of our beach pictures because who knows when our next vacation will be!!!

These pictures are pretty terrible. Evan is super red from playing so soccer so hard  the hot sun.  But I wanted to allow Evan to showcase his awesome trophy, AKA his Piston Cup. I thought maybe, just maybe, Evan enjoyed soccer just a little bit.  But when I told him this was his last game, he jumped up and down (showing me more energy than he ever showed on the soccer feild mind you) and said Yipee, I never have to come back here again!!!!!  Kind of reminds me of his swim lessons. I thought he loved them and would really embrace his new found swimming skills, but when Papa tried to take him swimming two weeks ago, he said, No thanks. I already passed my swimming test, I don't have to go swimming any more.  Money well spent, on both accounts!!!!

A goodbye hug between best buds

Who needs to hug, let's just pile on each other on the floor.  Good Idea.

Evan and Miss B.  Best teacher EVER!!!

Last Day of School, 2011. BOOOOOOOOO.

Evan's Last Day of School Pre-K 2 at Little Fishes 2011

Compare this to his first day of school, last Fall.

A little less baby, a little less head accessories....and one sad Mama.  I am so bummed school is out.  Mostly because that's 9 more hours a week I have to entertain my busier than ever, 3 year old.  But also, I know how much Evan LOVES school, and because we will won't see some of his friends nearly as much.  And, sniff sniff, I think this will be his last day of school with one of his best buds, James (since they are probably moving away this summer).  It was an amazing year.  I am so grateful to have found such a nice establishment with such genuinely warm people to help my sweet Evan grow into the bright little man I know he will be, probably sooner then I care to accept!!!

First Words

I have been a slacker blogger lately.  BUT here are a few pictures of Drew to tide you over for a little while. Today he said his first 2 word combination.  "Bye-Bye Corky".  Not the LOVE YOU MOMMY (which i realize is more then two words...but some type of combination of those would have sufficed...love you, love mommy, etc.) that I hoped for.  But it's a step up from Evan's "I Love you Pizza".  Which is obviously completely ironic since the boy hates food.  But Drew LOVES his Corky!!!  And I love this little guy.  He has some beaufiful blond locks coming in and blue eyes that just won't quit.
