#200

This is my 200th post. 200 posts since the end of August 2008 when I started. Some may say that is a bit much, that I have a bit of an addiction. Some may have already said that (PAUL). But I am in way to deep to stop now!!!!

Here are a few pictures of my little knucklehead, sitting in the drawer of the ottoman. He likes to stand in there, so he is at a better hieght to play with his trucks on top of the ottoman.

My Funny Valentine (2008)

As I post this morning, I am a tad bit in shock. I don't know what to do with myself this morning. My son is still sleeping at almost 8 o' clock in the morning. He has trained me to get up at 5:30 am, so I have been up since then just waiting to here his voice over the monitor. Maybe it was the hour of fussing he did in the middle of the night that wore him out (he is cutting two molars) or the fact that we wore him out yesterday with LOTS of playing. Whatever it is, I am treasuring this and hope it happens again soon. Now I just gotta figure out how I can train myself to sleep past 5:30 am again!!!
Here are a couple of pictures of Evan last year at this time. I can't find any cute boy Valentine's outfits for this year. Bummer. I guess it's more of a girlie holiday. Anyway, it's funny to look back at old pictures, because I would never use a flash nowadays. It's so harsh. And I took this in the daytime. So why I used a flash is beyond me.
Oh, I think I hear my little guy stirring right now. Gotta go!!! Cross your fingers that this becomes a pattern and that he no longer wakes up at 5:30 sharp every morning!!!!

Up Close and Personal

Evan can now point to all of his body parts when I ask him to. Today I said something about his cute little hiney and he grabbed it!! I didn't know he knew that word yet!! I also said, look at your tummy sticking out, and he grabbed that too. He is learning so many words every day, it's amazing.

Best Stage Ever

Each stage Evan is in, I think, this is the best stage ever (except the first two weeks of his life, that kicked my butt). But this really is the best stage ever!!! He is talking a little more each day, and he can point to his nose, ears, head, etc. We signed up for a music class this week again, which he loved. And we went to story time at the library. It's just so much fun to do things with him, now that his attention span is a little longer and now that he can participate with different activities. And it's just so cool to watch his little face light up. Here are some pictures of story time at the library. We went with three of Evan's buddies: Reagan, James and Carter.

Just Chillin

Evan and Corky, just chillin. Watching the kids get off the school bus and the lawn guy fertilize the lawn, waiting for the brownies to come out of the oven...just another lazy Wednesday afternoon at the Starstrom house.

My Alien Baby

I have been playing around with Photoshop Elements today, and I made this picture of Evan into a black and white except for his eyes. He's my little Alien / Children of the Corn Baby!!!

Also, I started a photography class last night, so hopefully my pictures will improve!!!! It's a pretty basic class, but it is helping me practice the things I have read about, and next week we get to bring in some of our pictures and the teacher is going to critique them and let us know what can do differently. So I am hoping I get some good pointers!!!

These Boots are Made for Walking

These are the rain boots that Grammy got Evan for Christmas. Today was the perfect opportunity to try them out. It rained all day yesterday, despite the lack of puddles in the pictures. And overcast days are my favorite days to take pictures of Evan!!! So out we went!!! The boots are huge on Evan, he wears a 5, and these are 6-7, but hey...what won't I do for a cute picture? I got so many cute shots that I tried to make a collage online, but couldn't find a good, user-friendly site to do so. So if you know of one, please leave me a comment!!!!

Not US Monday: Because I am NOT Throwing my Husband Under the Bus Too!!!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

I definitely didn't let Evan have some naked time before his bath the other day after cleaning him up from a poopy diaper (only to soon find out I apparently missed a spot), and then proceed to find Corky (our disgusting dog who doesn't like to eat cat poop, or any kind of poop for that matter) licking his little hiney!! And it did not take me a minute or so to stop her from licking him because I was laughing so hard!!

Paul and I weren't kidding around the other day calling each other Suckers in a really lound and obnoxious voice that sounded more like SUCKAAAAH, when we discovered Evan is starting to really repeat things that we say. So he wasn't saying SUCKAAAAH for the next five minutes straight.

My husband didn't essentially steal all of the silverware we have in our drawer from Outback Steakhouse before we were married, and I didn't decide to go ahead and keep it since it was nicer than the silverware I had. And once, after we were married (and Paul had heard me complain that we had no matching serving spoons) did not once ask the waiter if they had any serving spoons, while were dining in that very establishment. That would be just tacky and probably illegal some might say.

And finally, my husband did not cut little slits in our hamburgers last night while getting them ready for the grill, only to insert patties of butter in them. And the burgers weren't to go along side with the jalepenos I didn't make, stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped with bacon. Because that would just be too fatty, and we are super healthy people.

A Big Hat to Fill

Evan has no interest in his own hats. But when he sees Daddy wearing a hat, he wants to put that hat on immediately. It looks so big on his head that is in the 95th percentile for size!!!
