Am I Still in Orlando?

Yesterday I went with my photography class to Epcot. For the months of April and May, they are hosting a Flower and Garden show. Meaning, they have even more flowers in bloom there, then they usually do. They also had a butterfly garden, a banzai garden, and amazing topiaries just to name a few of the extra attraction. I enjoyed it so much, I am going back on Friday with my Mom!!! It was so beautiful, I almost forgot I was in Orlando.

Splash Park at the Zoo

Following story time and a quick tour of the animals at the zoo, we ate lunch and quickly headed to the splash park in the zoo. I don't think Evan even got slightly wet, but he enjoyed running around in the sun with his buddies.

Monkey See, Monkey Do

Today we went to the Sanford Zoo with six of my girlfriends and their babies for story time by a local librarian and for a tour of the zoo. It was about 45 minutes away, and we left right during Evan's usual nap-time, which made me a little nervous straight away. But he did pretty good. As long as we kept moving, and didn't stand still too long, he was happy. The zoo itself was fairly small. We walked through the trails where the animals were and were done before we knew it. The elephants were everyone's favorite, including Evan's. I was trying to get Evan to peek his head through the hole where the baby elephant's face was supposed to be, with no luck. Until his buddy James did it, then Evan immediately followed.

Boring is GOOD

I have done so much complaining and venting lately on my blog, and that certainly wasn't my intention when I started it last year. The point was to document special memories and share pictures of Evan with family and friends. And I certainly don't want to remember the last few weeks, when it comes to all the tantrums and whining that has been going on in our house. The last three days, Evan has been an angel again. It may be the end of a terrible phase, or just a break for me to keep me sane. But I'll take it, either way. So life may be boring and quiet, but what a nice change of pace!!!!

On another note, Evan can now climb into the computer chair by himself. This means sometimes I can't find the wireless mouse and sometimes he changes the settings on the computer. This weekend, I don't know how he did it or what he even did, but now we have some narrator giving us a play-by-play of everything we are doing online. It's meant for the visually impaired. It may actually be a genius move by Evan, since he can't read yet. He wants to know what we are all doing on this mysterious computer. But it is a really annoying voice, and for instance, if we go to, it says, "you are now at, you are searching for......., would you like to search for..... instead?" Now if I could just figure out how to disable this thing, for now I have the speakers on MUTE!!!

Few and Far Between

We have been somewhat MIA lately, and for that I apologize. Evan has been going through this new phase that is a bit difficult, for him and everyone around him. I blame it all on teething, because there is no way my little angel isn't anything but sweet to the core. But our days as of late, are filled with lots of fussing and crying and tantrum throwing. Smiles and laughs are few and far between I am afraid. But this morning, he was all smiles!!! Maybe it's the amazing weather, or perhaps the fact that Grandma and Grandpa Starstrom are visiting. But I took advantage and dusted off the ole camera. Looking forward to the end of this phase, and savoring all the mornings like these.

Big Wheels; Little Pants

As you can see, Evan got a new bike yesterday. A big-boy bike, sort of. At least bigger than the plastic one he had before. He's getting so big, he's growing out of his pants, hence the high-waters. Speaking of growing, his hair is getting so long, I can't keep up with it. It's out of control.

Animal Lover

Evan has inherited my love for animals. Here is Grammy's neighbor's cat that we pet daily when we are visiting her. Evan loves cats, but isn't as gentle as they would like him to be, I'm afraid.
